European travel

You can take our vans into mainland Europe for a small extra charge to cover the extra costs involved. We do need a couple of weeks notice for a European trip so that we can apply for a VE103 Vehicle on Hire certificate (in place of a V5) on your behalf. Insurance and breakdown cover are valid across Europe and the vans are equipped with the required equipment for travel in most European countries (e.g hi vis jackets, warning triangle etc.).

Our vans are gas free and this helps avoid any of the restrictions and hassle that applies to using Eurotunnel and some ferry operators. No need to show that the gas is off or bottles are at a certain level – you can just get going!

A lot of European cities now have clean air zones that may need an advance permit (such as Crit’Air in France). We do have a Crit’Air permit for our vans (for travel in certain French cities) but for other areas we don’t register permits as a matter of course; please ask before you travel as a previous hirer may have already registered your van. We can of course help with any information that permits require such as the V5 details, CO2 emissions details etc.
